So I make regular use of dictation to do a lot of text input on my phone, and since iOS 26.4 there is a consistent and repeatable bug that I’ve never experienced before.
The dictation transcript is preferentially inserting names and companies from my contacts over normal words that might possibly sound a little bit like them.
This is so severe that, as an example, the word ‘rice’ is no longer recognised as a word - every time I say it, dictation inserts the surname of someone in my contacts whose name sounds a little bit like it.
I literally cannot dictate that word anymore. That is just one example, but it’s doing it all over the place and it is consistent and repeatable. And all of these errors are of the same class - a surname from my contacts or a company name from my contacts is being inserted instead of the far more probable word it resembles, and in sentence contexts where it would make absolutely no sense to make that kind of substitution.
Has anybody else come across anything like this? For me it has made this essential feature basically unusable.
