I've been looking for an answer to this everywhere and I'm now just pulling me hair out I can understand what's going on.

Created my own HTML email signature. On my iMac, I was able to use this in mail perfectly using this step-by-step tutorial...

This has worked perfectly, no issues.

On my Macbook Pro, it just won't work. It shows in signature preferences and looks great but when go to write a new message, there is no signature for that email address in the drop down???

I've tried restarting the Macbook and deleting and then replacing the file.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance

Silly question, but you did drag the sig created to the account under sig. Preferences, correct?

Did you assign the signature to the correct mail account? You need to ensure when creating the signature that it is setup under the mail account that you use.

If you're not using iCloud, did you lock the file?

If you are using iCloud, did you uncheck Documents & Data in System Preferences > iCloud?

These instructions are good too, there's a video, slideshow and written instructions -

Apple is getting worse and worse, and considering they is nobody home for support, and a 140 character limit on their feedback... i just start to slowly 'let go' and get on with my work.. and somehow put up with tiny text, missing signatures, paid apps going missing from appstore, paid movies going missing from the itunes store after i bought them.. maybe they are about to have a crisis like then they had to ask Steve Jobs to come back.. except this time, there is no Steve Jobs to ask back.. ioS9 is crap and Yosemite was rubbish, and el capitan is worse.. Oh Well, all things have an end.. even Apple

As others have said, when you install an email signature on OSX, you need to select the specific email account you wish to assign it to, and not just "All Signatures" as that doesnt work. I had this exact same issue before and was tearing my hair out like you. More info here:

Not sure why Apple isnt fixing this "feature"...
