I have a CD macbook, and when I turned on my screensaver, the screen just went black. I restarted, only to find items in my trash. It's a folder called "Recovered Files" and in it are documents called "dftmpAOMMPHBMnkkkkkkk--------" and similar things. Also, there are folders called MSau_489, MSau_602, and plugtmp.

Any idea why the screen blacked out and these files are here?

Thanks.

It's fine to delete them. Here is an Apple support article on it. OS 9 used to do this, but they got rid of it in OS X. It made an annoying return recently though, and you'll find such a folder in your Trash after most restarts.
