Hi,

since doing the SL upgrade, I've been having a number of interface/firefox issues, such as:

- sometimes, the page within the browser window 'shakes' back and forth. As if I were moving the horizontal bar back and forth. (that bar shouldn't be there anyhow).

- 'tooltips?' don't stay visible. If I hover over a link such as 'mac applications' above, a tooltip appears but then vanishes straight away.

- often when scrolling within a page, i lose the ability to go up and down with the arrow keys or the scroll wheel. Only solution is to move the handles on the right of the window.

- drop down boxes don't work. they vanish straight away.

anyone else had these issues with firefox? Safari seems fine.

tried that, didn't help :(

btw, the wobbly window happens in the OS actually as well. If I open finder, and by default it hasn't stretched to the full width - it wobbles back and forth - as if I am wiggling the horizontal blue scroll handle.

bizarre!!

Hmm, did you do an upgrade or clean install? I recommend you to do clean now if you didn't

just an upgrade..... full clean might be required... :(

Clean isn't that bad thing. My install time was half and restoring 100GB with Migration Assistant took half an hour. That means, the total time was same, 1 hour install time with upgrade and 30min install + 30min restoring. Everything was same, I mean everything.

did u also migrate the apps etc?

Real full clean install would be NOT doing that :) However, it is something I like to do every major OS release. Just don't have the time right now....

I know it's not 100% clean install but in my experience, doing a clean install and then restoring from TM backup is still a lot better than doing an upgrade.

oh well.. did a clean install and migrate - but the issues are still there.

wobbly test everywhere.
mouse loses focus and can't click in browser.
clicking into menus, i can't glide from one to the next anymore - need to click, click, click.

all very odd. never had such an update problem before.

I guess a total clean manual install is the next option.. :(

Yeah. . . I've been having this problem for months now. First i thought it was something I did, but know I know better. :)

issue identified

I think I solved these weird issues.

I simply unplugged my logitech laser mouse (the wireless docking station) and instead use my wired mighty mouse.

The problems have now vanished.

Previously, I had used the SL LCC install tips mentioned on this forum to get the mouse working. But it seems that for some reason, it doesn't work 100%. I guess we just need to wait for an official upgrade from Logitech.

Bottom line, the issue wasn't the Mac OS, but the logitech sw :)
