That's probably true but I thought it would be worth a try.
 
Okay, I re-installed my OS. Now . . . I've also re-plugged the Logitech transmitter . . . do I dare connect the keyboard? Even the mouse? I've been using the mouse, for the past few minutes, without any problem . . . but . . . a worry remains . . .

Advice?

I would avoid the keyboard for now. I would email Logitech with your gripe and see if they have any input on when the problem might be fixed or what to do now that you have everything working.

Even though this wasn't related to the problem, to answer your question, the PMU (Power Management Unit) button is a little button on the logic board. (known as the CUDA on older Macs).

It should really only be pressed as an absolute last resort for problems, especially PRAM and NVRAM-related.
