Hi all, sorry if this is quite convoluted and lengthy but I've never come across a problem like this before and I'm not sure how to explain it. This is also my very first mac computer so while I'm technically savvy, I'm still a bit of a mac novice so please bear with me! It's a strange problem though so I'm really hoping someone can help me!
So I bought my new MBP a couple months ago while I was studying in the US. There I had no problems whatsoever with the internet, I could use the American Netflix site fine. I cancel my Netflix account and I get back to the UK and everything is working as normal, no connectivity issues or anything.
However, I recently started using the UK Netflix, and I've had nothing but problems with it. This is what usually happens: I go to Netflix.com, the page at first usually loads quickly but not fully, some of the pictures are missing and the links don't work. I hit refresh and it doesn't work at all, it says 'Safari can't open the page because the server where the page is located isn't responding.' There's two routers in my house, one in my bedroom and one downstairs and both have strong signals, so I'd try connecting to the other router. Netflix momentarily works again and loads after connecting to this other router, but then when I click on a link just stops working again. Usually, I'll eventually have a lucky run and be able to watch something. When a movie actually starts playing it's fine, it doesn't stop halfway through or anything. It's so bizarre. The same thing also happens on Firefox (although Firefox usually doesn't let me watch anything on Netflix anyway because of some problem with Silverlight.)
Interestingly, while I'm fighting with Netflix, other websites stop working too, like Facebook will suddenly say I've lost connectivity and google and other websites don't load and it comes up with the 'Safari can't open the page' thing. But if I'm not on Netflix, or a short while after I've given up and gone off Netflix, everything else goes back to normal and loads. SO WEIRD
Also I thought I should mention that Netflix loads ok on my windows PC and the app on my PS3 and internet connected DVD Player.
