OH WAIT - iPhoto does it too.

So, it's definitely a Mountain Lion/graphics card thing with this particular MBP, eh? *NOT* a Google Chrome problem.

Any word from the big boys on a fix?

I don't seem to have this issue now, but did way back on Santa Rose based MBP with the graphics card fiasco. Hopefully the issue you are seeing is something that can be easily fixed with a Chrome or ML software upgrade.

Solution!

I was about to post here saying I had the exact same problem (the "blueish" screen when Google Chrome or Photo Booth were running), but I just made the software update (just now, October 15, OS X version 10.8.2) and everything is just great.

It was very awkward, however. Yesterday my MacBook Pro was working just fine and I decided to turn it off. Today when I turned it back on it's screen got "blueish" the second Google Chrome started running. I desperately googled it until i found this thread, but then I updated it and it's just fine.

Hope I helped.

Same issue here. Chrome turns everyting more blue-ish.
Annoying.

Brand spankin' new mid-2012 MacBook Pro (Hires Display) running OS X 10.8.2.

Any fix yet? I'd love to know.

Strangely enough, I no longer have this problem after doing a fresh install of 10.8.2

Seems like there's still no fix from Apple. I'm fully updated on 10.8.2, and experience the same color shifts. gfxCardStatus v2.3 reliably shows:

- integrated gfx = normal colors
- discrete gfx = blueish colors

On automatic change (default), it's up to the needs of the application of course.
