I recently upgraded to the latest Pages after installing Mavericks, and I am noticing a very strange (and annoying) issue. It seems to not allow me to change the text style (from bold to unbold) on a new line until I begin to enter text. Hard to explain; try this:

Open a new document, just the basic "blank" portrait template.

For what it's worth, my default font is Helvetica Regular 11 pt.

On the first line, type

test123

where the test is not bold and the 123 is bold

Then "enter" to the next line. My text is defaulted as bold (assuming since it was bold when I 'Entered' to the next line).

But, it will not allow me to change off of bold. If I start typing, after I've entered at least 1 character I can unbold, but not at the very start of the line.

Does this occur with anyone else... or know why this would happen?

Tried it and the same thing happened to me. The only solution I could think of is clicking unbold before hitting enter. It is annoying though.
