I just received my new iPhone X and tried recording a video when I noticed this strange buzzing sound and wired "beep". I have tried different camera settings and am sitting in a perfectly quiet room.

Has anyone else experienced this?

It shouldn't be making any buzzing noises, more specifically, that audible. I would try powering down the iPhone and power back on. Otherwise, I would exchange it for new one if it is defective.

I've tried both hard and soft restarts.
I can't believe its defective after waiting 2 weeks :(

At least you have the option of returning it and Apple might have a replacement available at your store, which they have units set aside strictly for defects.

Just to close this off, I removed the screen cover that comes out of the box (and thus covers the front camera/noise cancellation mic) and the issue has disappeared.

False alarm.
