Strange POST noises on new iMac C2D

I recently purchased a C2d 20 inch iMac and the start up chime has started doing something a bit wierd.

1) normal chime
2) half chime/short chime
3) half chime/short chime
4) half chime/short chime

Any idea what this means?

Reseat the RAM.

Try using 1 stick of RAM at a time

As you guessed, its probably a RAM issue.
