Hi. I will explain the problem I have in stages so all can understand. I have a Mac Book pro 17" 2.5 ghz 250GB HD. last week I used the bootcamp and set aside 50 GB for XP. All went well and worked fine. I then decided the 50 GB was more valuable to me for FCP editing than windows. So knot being sure what to do I inserted disc 1 and rebooted installed software bundle only to find the partition was still there!!. Being a bit of a D*** head I realized that all I had to do was go into bootcamp and take away the partition, so easy but I messed up!!. OK, I have now got the computer formated and when it looks for up dates it shows say. "Updates for imovie, garageband, security update etc. I put in my password, it downloads OK and the you click on install all 4 items, this is when you get one long info cell with the little red and yellow packet to the left OK Up to here is no problem. Once it has downloaded from the web it then says Configuring instalation and then the little blue line starts from left to right and should reboot if needed. Mine little blue line goes about 1 cm from the left towards the right and stops for good!!!. I have to manualy turn it off. When I go into see what software has bee updated only 30 to 50% is shown. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?, Firweare needs re installing or some file lost. I have it sat here doing nothing because to load everything on again when there is a problem is a bit crazy:eek:. Thanks for any help

Sounds like your OS X install has gotten mucked up. Use your computer's restore disks to run an archive & install with "preserve users and network settings" enabled, then run Software Update a few times and you should be good.
