Strange Symbols instead of letters when deleting a file/folder?

Hi,

I work at an internal IT helpdesk and one of our users is having a problem, whereby when she deleted a file/folder, the finder window that prompts her to enter password comes up, however the letters don't appear as letters they all appear as symbols. They look like the letter A in a box. I'm stumped with this, is there anything anyone can suggest?

Has nobody else had this problem then? For the record, the user has just told me that the problem originally started on Safari, however she began using Firefox which wasn't affected and has since returned to Safari which is now okay and the issue has switched to the login boxes.

The user has a corrupted font cache file. So read the older Apple thread Font Issues with iWorks and OS Mountain Lion or use the free Onyx program to clear the font cache and let the program reboot your Mac to complete the clearing.
