Lambert's photo realistic picture of Freeman is truly amazing. It is a magnificent demonstration of Lambert's proficiency of the application and the hardware. I would like to know what tool he used to record his creation of the portrait. Why did the recording not capture his selecting the different tools and setting adjustments in the application?

The more one knows their tools the easier it is to use imagination to get the most out of them.

Pretty cool. Flies in the face of the all the naysayers on this forum telling me the iPad is nothing but a glorified consumption device.
....
Just think, all you need is for it to have a good writing utensil to make it go from consumption to more ;)

So the iPP couldn't do it alone? Other devices involved: Mac & Wacom tablet. Bolsters the point that for serious work, iPP is a great companion device to a Mac or PC, not a replacement for them.

BINGO! BINGO! BINGO! DING! DING! DING!

Dumbass Cook couldn't get it right. It proves that IPP is not a desktop or laptop replacement. This also proves that a creative professional will always return to the tool that gets the job done and that is the desktop and Wacom for accuracy and handling the high resolution file size.

I usually go from moleskine sketchbook, scan it via iphone and finalize the artwork on my iMac using Manga Studio, Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. Sometimes Sketchbook Pro. And this workflow works out for me.

EDIT: Oh and Stranger Things is a brilliant show!

I LOVED this series. Many well done homages to 80's culture ("Firestarter", "The Thing", "Altered States", and more), MKUltra, great performances, a well driven character story with the perfect balance of science fiction, mystery, thriller, and drama. Winona Ryders deserves a "win" and recogntion for her role after being shafted by (then) best friend Gwenyth Paltrow for "Shakespear in Love" then Angelina Jolie the next year for "Girl, Interrupted", which critics agreed should have gone to Ryder. No wonder she had a melt down. lol

I'm two episodes in and struggling. The characters and dialogue feel cliched or two dimensional or something. Which is making it hard for me to care about what's happening. Am
I missing something? I really wanted to like this show.
Watch 2 more episodes. The first 2 were a bit out there, but I was hooked after them.

Of course the iPP is not a desktop or laptop replacement. It can be for some people, but not for everyone. Again, the ideal is a seamless combination of iPP and macOS. Not converging the two. Cook isn't a dumbass for this, but it is a slow integration of workflow.

who's idea is that? the iPad Pro is being marketed as a computer replacement.

who's idea is that? the iPad Pro is being marketed as a computer replacement.

"iPad Pro is powerful enough to easily take on tasks once reserved for PCs. And many you could never do on a PC."

Again, it can be a replacement for some people, but not all people. It has its strengths, and its weaknesses as a computer. At the end of the day, it's just another category of computer. So, it's not a replacement for a desktop or a laptop: its an entirely new category of computer in its own right. The 2-in-1 are trying to merge desktop and laptop together, Apple is going a third route and creating an entirely new category all together.

This category can be a replacement for a desktop or a laptop but it doesn't need to be. Its really just another type of computing experience in addition to a laptop and desktop and seeks to enhance these experiences. Which, clearly it did with the case of this article. And that's my point entirely.

so, it was your idea.

Brilliant show. Nearly a year until the next season is a long wait.

But in the meantime - for those who loved the soundtrack and were wondering if it would sooner or later see fruition, then the news that an official soundtrack is coming is kinda exciting: this Friday Volume 1 is released, followed by Volume 2 on August 19th. Digital versions, that is...

I'm amazed he even got the job. I would say most of his work, if not all is pretty amateurish. The only thing that stands out is this. Morgan freeman you find interesting because is seems like a hoax.. Even if it isn't it's simply just a photo copy of extreme detail (I think it's a reversed video though)...This poster on the other hand is quite nice even though it's very photo dependent. Nicely executed and very 80's drew struzan feel to it. I suspect netflix had to go through some painful revision rounds for him to pull this out. Probably a good art director saving him. Nonetheless good work, he probably learned a lot from it.
