Stream iTunes-bought TV shows to PS3?

I want to buy an episode of a TV show on iTunes and stream it to my TV (via my PS3 or TiVo series 2, both connected via wireless router).

Is this possible to do for free, ie without Apple TV?

I have two Macs and a PC all with iTunes.

This is kinda off topic but I'm OP so...

How long do you think it'll be before we have completely seamless voice interfacing with computers and devices? I know researchers can get pretty close to seamless now with expensive projects like Watson, but I'm talking about ten or twenty years (?) when even the cheapest TV or computer or cell phone understands spoken language without the faintest hiccup.

I want to say to my TV "find last week's episode of Breaking Bad" and within 2 seconds my PlayStation 9 or just the TV itself says "That episode is available from AMC Direct and costs $12.99 USD. Would you like to charge that to your VISA account ending 1234 or your PayPal on file?" Done.
