Hi,
I've just got myself an Airport Express and it's working fine. I saw once a utility which allows to stream all the OSX audio to the Airport Express and not only from iTunes but I can't find it anymore.
Airfoil will do it. It works well except that there is a couple of seconds lag. So it is great for e.g. internet radio but sucks for visual content like youtube.

Yep this delay sucks a bit but I guess that there is nothing to do against.
Nevertheless I found a workaround for VLC while watching movies: VLC allows to desynchronize the video with the audio so all I had to do was to play the audio 2000 ms earlier. It can be in the Audio preferences 😉
You can also use Airfoils built in video player. Haven't used it, but I suppose that it's using QuickTime so it might not be an alternative to VLC (depending on your needs).
