Maybe I said it wrong, in iTunes you can share photos this allows the Apple TV to stream them

Not in any native Apple app that I know of. Try out the Stratospherix Filebrowser app, it allows you to connect to your Mac and browse any files on it including your pics.

Actually, I don't :-/

I found out about it a few days ago when I was looking up how to transfer files from my Mac to my iPad. Like how Airdrop *should* work, instead of just between iOS devices. It was on this forum that I found a suggestion of File Manager, but I haven't tried it out yet. If you do go for it let us know how it is.

I use Splashtop to access my Mac Mini from my iPad. It works really well.
