I just filled up my 40 GB Apple TV hard drive. A touching milestone, forsooth.

Now when I watch unwatched TV shows, they disappear from the Apple TV hard drive while remaining on my computer's iTunes library. This is expected as part of automatic syncing and prioritization.

What isn't expected is that although iTunes is open on my computer, I can't stream the TV shows that got taken off of the Apple TV hard drive!

iTunes recognizes Apple TV and can sync with it just fine, but when I go to "computers" in the Apple TV settings, my library is there, but grayed out.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? How do I fix it?

I ended up having to do a factory reset and limit the content being synched and now everything appears to be doing okay.

Be warned, when your hard drive fills up, you may start seeing unpredictable behavior!
