Running an Amazon Prime pilot through the iOS Instant Video app on my Mini onto the Samsung big screen through AppleTV last night led to stalls, buffering, so we cut it off. Too Balkanized, I'd guess. It ran fine on the Mini without AirPlay. Maybe a one-time disruption, but there has been a recent occasion when a Netflix SuperHD program simply would not run for a couple nights running on AppleTV but would in the den where we have Roku 2 set up. Roku offers TWiT, a tech channel I like, also.

Both platforms carry Neflix, which is the leader in TV programming screening, I read. But, I have to say, there have been four or five movies I wanted enough to search for them, and the score: none on Netflix; all on Amazon Prime, which ain't carried by AppleTV.
