iPad Pro Streaming to TV

Hi guys

i want to stream my ipad (bbc iplayer, movies, films etc etc) to my tv wirelessly, so thought of buying an old Apple TV unit on ebay purely for this purpose.

Is this a good idea? do earlier units work perfectly well? not interested in all the bells and whistles and options and itunes store crap of the new units, just want a smooth jerk free option to wirelessly stream video from ipad to tv.

ebay sells earlier units from 10 bucks onwards. is this an option or am i on a hiding to nothing?

I still have an old Apple TV that I keep in the bedroom exclusively for streaming from iPad and iPhone. Works perfect. If that’s what you want it for, go for it man
