Hi,
I'm fooling around with this PowerMac G4:

The CPU comes from my Digital Audio and ran originally at 466MHz.

It runs fine on 550MHz with my homemade active cooling (50mm fan on modified DA heatsink so that the door closes).

I want to go beyond 550MHz now, but I want it tested as rock solid. Any software recommendations to test the CPU under full load?

Regards

Use Cinebench (2003 or R10) CPU render test multiple times or encode some video (with ffmpegX for example).

How to install it without loosing the ATA for the DVD-Drive is however still a mystery to me.

Only way is to desolder this connector and solder it underneath. PITA, but possible. You can also desolder it and use PCI ATA card to connect DVD drive.
