Is there a way to see how many steps/strides were taken during a elliptical workout ? I did a really short one and didn’t see that info in the workout log

Keep in mind that the AW tracks your arm movement to count steps. No way it can know how you are doing on your elliptical except for heart rate and steps if swinging your arms.

It counted them correctly in my step total. ( my elliptical tells me how many I took so I was able to compare) I was just hoping that it would show me the amount of steps I took during that logged workout time period.

Unless you remove your arms from the handles and let them swing by your side it doesn't count the strides. It seems there needs to be an up/down as well as the forward/backward movement for it to count.

In running your arms move more forward/backwards and less up/down than walking. So I have tried to compare elliptical to running for arm swing. There seems to be just enough up/down that is missing from the elliptical to count as a step when running.

I keep my hands on the moving bars. I took 300 strides ( according to my elliptical machine and the Apple watch counted like 310. Pretty close in my opinion. I plan on doing a normal workout tomorrow to see how it compares.
