So they had capacity available and gave it to Apple. Kinda different from prioritizing Apple over rivals.

I was super careful throughout all of COVID, took all CDC recommended precautions, stayed away from people, only wore KN-95 masks. But now that the vaccine has been freely available for some time and everyone that wants protection has gotten it, I have zero problem with huge events. It was fine to chastise super spreader covidiots early during COVID because they were choosing to put others at risk. Now that they're only putting themselves at risk, and their hospitalizations and deaths aren't happening at a rate that grinds everyone's healthcare system to a halt, who cares what they do? Serious question, should I care? Because I currently don't.

Yup. I certainly don’t care.

That's crazy!
One could've thought that iPhone 13 buying event was in America.
Like many Americans, many mainland Chinese value status on many things like a relatively luxurious new iPhone, to owned and to be shown to everyone.
Sadly ironic, the iPhone costs more to buy in China, where it's made and is very expensive. Knew some people and relatives from HK/China who used to come to America for visits and one main shopping goal was to buy an iPhone for themselves and bring back some to others. It's cheaper to buy in the US than it is in China/Asia.

Possible, but can’t they just order online or get a now cheaper iPhone 12? Why marathon for it?
It's simpler to just go to the nearest Apple store or electronics store to get the newer iPhones than pre-order and wait for it then show it off to everyone afterwards.
High end items, like many Apple products like the iPhone, are status items.
Many people, not just the Chinese or Asians, want the latest and greatest luxury item to own and to show off.
Look at many Americans, or any other people, who want the latest and greatest Apple product. Look at the threads in this forum and many other online forums of iPhone owners who are excited about getting a new iPhone 13 model.
It's No different!

“He who has the gold makes the rules.”

I‘m consistently amused how the people whining about these situations are in fact the genesis of the gold.

Humans are soo dated.

"Strong iPhone 13 demand in Taiwan and China has led Taiwanese component suppliers to prioritize production lines for Apple over rival Samsung and many Chinese mobile vendors..."

More Chinese warships prowling close to Taiwanese waters soon?

(I'm only half joking)

iPhone launch stampedes in 2021? What’s so special to iPhone 13 for those Asian users versus iPhone 12, I wonder? 🤔
The Chinese mobile gaming market is huge. Given that the 13 Pro has 60% faster GPU than the 12 and double compared to the Snapdragon 888, it’s really no surprise.

I’d bet if you ask those people rushing to the store they’d tell you they’re getting it for Genshin Impact.

As a non-gamer, I totally forgot to factor in this “passionate gamers” group. That might explain it! 🖐

Another "omg covid is a govt conspiracy" post. Get over yourself. 🙄🤦‍♂️ and get vaccinated for the sake of everyone else!

And if you want to be smart, just look at the rates that skyrocketed after Global Citizen!

Ummm, you do realise that you can both carry & still get Covid right 🤦‍♂️ Children is most countries are also unvaccinated.

Yes, but now that I'm vaccinated, the risk of serious complications and dying are basically nonexistent, about the same odds as dying from a lightning strike. Children were always at low risk. My point is that when anti-mask and anti-vax imbeciles were putting me at risk, I cared, but now that anyone can get vaccinated they can put themselves and their families at all the risk they want as long as it doesn't affect me. All the info is out there and anyone listening to some BS on Facebook over the entire scientific community can't be helped

You assume I’m not vaccinated? Lol grow up
I assume that you are naive to think that you can't get Covid or pass it on,..just because your vaccinated & wear a mask! Look at the facts after the Global Citizen event 🙄🤦‍♂️..so naive. You probably think the World isn't round either 🤦‍♂️

I don’t believe that I can’t get COVID. I just don’t care if I do get COVID. If I can pass it on then how is it my fault someone else chose not to be vaccinated?
I’ve moved on.

If you get a serious COVID infection, require hospitalization causing people with other needed medical conditions to be turned away and dying. You also OK with that?
