Strong sales of iPhone 14 Pro models could see Apple stabilize its market share for high-end handsets at 60%, if the enthusiastic consumer response continues through the year.

According to DigiTimes, so far this year Apple's market share for high-end handsets with unit prices of over $500 has reached 55% in off season and 60% in peak season, but iPhone 14 Pro sales could see its peak season share become the norm if they maintain their current momentum.

Apple has reportedly asked its primary iPhone assembler Foxconn to shift some iPhone 14 production capacity to the Pro models to meet strong demand, while DigiTimes reports that component makers in Apple's supply chain have not received order cuts for any model, although they may have been told to slightly adjust the shipment ratios for different devices.

On Apple's website, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in several configurations remain estimated to be shipped out in weeks. By contrast, iPhone 14 models have seen lukewarm sales, with the devices remaining available to order from Apple's website with no delay and readily available at stores.

The real indicator of demand for iPhone 14 Pro will be the sales performance in the first month following the initial wave of pre-ordered models, according to DigiTimes. Last year's iPhone 13 Pro models were said to have registered "outstanding" long-tail sales after the first wave of pre-orders, signaling that Pro models have become mainstream upgrades for iPhone users thanks to their strong spec upgrades.

By contrast, the iPhone 14 features the same design and display as the iPhone 13, and is powered by the same chip as the iPhone 13 Pro, plus has newer camera features. Meanwhile the 6.7-inch ‌iPhone 14‌ Plus is a larger version with a bigger battery, replacing the not-so-popular "mini" sizes from the iPhone 12 and 13 lineups.

€1,339 for a 128 GB iPhone 14 Pro. Safe to say they’ll be few and far between where I live. Back in the real world I’m unsure who will be buying these things. Because Apple has gotten so greedy I kind of hope iPhone sales crash and burn. I also wouldn’t believe any sales predictions at this point. Makes me wonder who is behind Digitimes, tbh. Any analysts worth their salt wouldn’t be trying to predict sales this early, IMO. Wonder what their game is. The non-Pro iPhone 14 is €1,029 and the 13 mini remains the same €829 price for a second year running. All of these phones carry high-end prices.

It’s not Apples fault Europe has hyperinflation. The price hasn’t increased at all in the US and all the countries that are based on this glorious god gifted currency.

how about stop cannibalizing your own customer base and make only maybe two models per year with size of phone being the only spec difference

the standard 14 not being made could’ve made the pros priced more competitively if they wanted to dominate
It cost them nothing to make the 14 plus or the 14. It was the same assembly as last years phone.

There is argument that even with the iPhone pro 14 should be skipped this year. Negligible camera difference, island is a bit gimmicky but neat, and the always on screen needs work.

So if you have an iPhone 12 Pro or newer just wait for the usb c iPhone 15 pro

Strangest move by Apple this year, everyone is wanting USB-C on iPhone and EU legislation will probably mandate it. What does Apple do instead remove the SIM tray and slot from the USA version, who was asking for this (no one). Apple still sells the SIM version in other countries, this is some arse backwards thinking. Plus getting those large ProRAW files from a 48MP camera off at USB 2 speed shameful for a “Pro” camera phone.

I suspect next year with periscope zoom, better cameras and being forced to include USB-C, Apple will sell it as if it’s their idea all along.

I was about to purchase 3 iPhone 14 Pro phones but am holding off for another year for USB-C. Even though I have many good lightening cables it’s just too slow to do a backup wireless or wires and no I don’t care for iCloud it’s overpriced and I like to keep my backups local and secure.

He’s not criticizing everyone else ,merely apple .
Hes saying they can sit on their laurels and provide little improvements for a very high price ,and keep the base storage and stuff super low .
iPhone 15 Pro base storage will probably increase to 256GB. The non-Pro models had an increase since iPhone 13 and remained this year. I suspect the upcoming iPad Pro models will increase the base storage to 256GB due to Apple aligning its as an in between desktop/mobile solution albeit slowly. Seems the iPad Pro line sets the stage for increased storage and the following is iPhone Pro models.

Well of course they are strong...
It’s strong due to the novelty of DI, AOD and a 48MP wide camera.

Once DI and some of the other camera improvements drips to the standard line the sales will shift to the standard lineup. Compare iPhone 13 and its Pro version, the biggest difference being ProMotion and that is not always apparent to everyone in every situation of interaction.

iPhone 14 and Pro is a transition year product, best to hold off till iPhone 15 rolls out and 16 will probably bring some folding version the iPhone 16 Ultra.
