If it is convenient for you to visit an Apple Store (or a Best Buy, or other retailer who would have display models for you to try on), then I suggest you do that. You don't say how large your wrist is, which is the most important factor.

My wife tried the larger watch size before we bought our new S6 watches, and she didn't like it on her wrist, which is quite small. But some would enjoy having a larger watch, even with a small wrist. It's going to ultimately be up to what your own personal preference is, and you can best judge that by trying on the different sizes and seeing for yourself.

Bought the 45mm on launch day, wore it till yesterday where I purchased a 41mm to compare.
41mm is slightly too small (I would say about 10%) but the 45mm is too big (by 15%).
Both aren't perfect but the 41mm is better looking on my wrist than the 45mm.
When I had the 45mm, every time I would look down at my wrist, while I loved the big screen, it just looked so...dispportionate.
That being said, I always liked smaller watches. The world gravitates to 40mm, 41mm, even 45mm mechanical watches while I still prefer a 36mm

Comparison photos. I tried my best to focus the photos on just the watches. Came out a bit ugly though haha.

As a woman with a small wrist my opinion is to go with the 41mm. It will look better on your wrist and the reduced bezels will give you a bigger screen. You can use your older bands on the 45mm but the fit isn't as good and will detract from the look of watch. In addition, if you wear the watch for all occasions as I do, I think it will look inappropriate with dressier clothes.

Agreed. The 41mm looks great on you!

In the same dilemma as the OP. Went to the Apple Store and found that the 45mm is much better suited for my 185mm wrist. Problem is, no one anywhere has the 45mm models in stock…

Why not get both and get to use them extensively before returning one of them?

What wrist size are you? Most of my steel dive watches are 44 or 45mm. I’m worried the 45mm Apple Watch will be too big.

Thanks.

I got to try out both sizes in the Apple store and as a man with slimmer wrists, I actually prefer the 41mm, as it has less ‘heft’ to it. Opened up the calculator app on both and it displayed the exact same information and digits, so it seems to be purely a personal preference.

Are your dive watches too big, that is do the lugs overhang your wrist? If not, then your wrist is plenty big enough for the 45mm. If the lugs on your dive watches do overhang your wrist then stop buying 44/45mm dive watches. The 45mm AW may still fit you though, just get bands that don't have lugs.
