I was trying to install 4.2.1 while using Tinyumbrella to avoid upgrading my baseband. Now my iphone 4 is stuck in recovery mode and the exit recovery button will not kick it out. I had saved my SHSH blobs prior to upgrading, any ideas how to get it out of recovery? Everything I've been able to find says use tinyumbrella to kick it out which obviously is not working. I do have the latest version of Tinyumbrella btw.

Does iTunes recognise your iPhone as being in recovery mode every time you open iTunes?

This happened to me before.

To solve it, i unplugged my iPhone.

Performed the DFU initiation, hold the power button for 3 seconds etc

Then reconnected to iTunes. For a restore

I guess doing the same might allow to restore or rejailbreak

I managed to get it out by restoring to the 4.1 software then using the exit recovery option from tiny umbrella. I haven't tried reinstalling 4.2.1 yet so I'm not sure if this is a continuous problem. Thanks for the replies.
