This has happened to me twice over the last month, never before that. I waited about 10 minutes and got impatient so just did a hard reset and no issues. I doubt its using much battery so if it was at a full charge, it may take a while.

Very odd you cant hard reset. Is it an iPhone 7/7 Plus? If so are you holding the power button and volume down button instead of the home button?

iPhone 7, ha I have not had any problems and did not even realize I had to use the Volume down button. Just tried it and phone works now. Thanks.

Phone was at 15% battery so I'd imagine within another 2 hours it would have turned off.

Lol glad to hear it worked. Wonder what the cause of it is
