macOS Student Developer Package ETA?

I am going to be buying the student ADC package for the hardware discount. Anyone know how that works? Does it attach automatically to my Apple account? Or do they send me a package with the code in it like the Apple Care stuff?

You get an e-mail in about 24 hours or so with the code used to activate your membership on your current ADC free account.
