Hi.

For a student discount, would it be possible to get my aunt who has kids in college to buy the MacBook for me (at my expense) for the discount?
This is definitely possible I'd assume, but my real question lies in if there is some sort of given identity within the student MBA?
As in, say she buys it for me yaddayaddayadda, would she be required to give the name of her child so that it would be registered within the MBA once received or have some sort of engraving?
Or would it be just like any other MBA bought from the Apple Store?

Also, are the Back To School promos only for college students or for K-12+?

thanks

I've never had anyone ask for verification for the student discount. The computer doesn't have any special markings or registration requirements either. It's just the regular computer on which you got a $50 discount.

So, you're saying that you don't even have to be a student to get the student discount?

I wouldn't need my aunt at all?

Apple randomly checks for verification. More focused on first time buyers.
When I first bought 2010 MBP with a student discount, Apple asked for mine.
But when I bought one in 2012, they didn't.
If you can, just put your name in billing address and you'll be fine.

Online there is no verification. As for in store I believe it just depends on the Specialist that takes care of you. Showing student ID or an email is enough proof from what I know.
