I don't think so, my M4 Max studio runs cool - my temps are. in the 30s for most activities, pushing the computer will get a little warmer, but I've not seen temps over 60c no matter how hard I push it.

Well, being necessary or not depends on the individual user, since the main purpose of the stand is to prevent some dust particles from accumulating inside the computer. In my case, I would certainly use an air-filtering unit like that, or similar.

I would say so - I have the exact same one!
It helps prevent dust being sucked into the bottom of the Studio - Ive been using it several months and checking the bottom of the studio shows no dust buildup whatsoever. That's what I bought it for, and it's doing its job pretty well.
It also allows me to connect my TB cables into the back of the studio, and have them feed under the studio to the front - ready to use......

That's actually a good point. I was worried about dust infiltration tbh. I've had to clean my PC on occasion due to the dust, so anything I can do to minimize that on the studio, I want to embrace.

I was shocked at how dusty the bottom of my Mini was when I cleaned it before sending it in for store credit. That's why I think this is a good idea. It also has the added benefit of going along with the new liquid glass theme.

Just checked mine now in fact - the protective grill has no dust build up whatsoever. So raising the Studio up off of the desk is certainly helping in the first instance, and then the mesh grill is an additional barrier to stop any dust that should work its way there.......

Oh and the stand has some nice rubber feet - meaning when plugging in/out cables the Studio doesn't slip around at all - stays put solid!

Here's a clearer image.
The 3 black thunderblades are connected to an OWC Thunderbolt hub, with a single cable to the rear of the Studio.
Another TB5 port taken by my Studio Display.
I have then connected two Apple TB Pro cables to the last two rear TB5 ports, and leave them under the stand. That way I can easy pull them forward and connect and other drives as and when need be, rather than having to reach round to the back.......the stand provides perfect clearance for the cables
This all leaves my front ports free for 'slower' drives.

Based on feedback, I placed an order for one with Amazon just now, along with a few other things I was going to buy. It will arrive a couple of days before the Studio arrives if ETAs are correct.

When placing the Studio on top, just make sure you get orientation correct. There is a little protruding nub at one corner, which goes into the Kensington lock slot on the bottom of the Studio. This keeps both parts securely together and prevents them from sliding around etc
