It surprises me (or maybe it doesn't) how many comments are about the 'high price' of the gear....the Studio items are for businesses, and creative professionals..not for most consumers....If you think the price is too high, maybe its not made for you.

I'm very disappointed in the price of this display. It is a lovely display, to be sure — well worth the money. That said, creating two monitors for designers/developers and zero for average consumers is strange to me. There are many people who want a decent monitor (other than crappy LG or Dell monitors) that match their Apple computer. If it costs a bit more than one of those crappy $300 monitors, fine. The average consumer isn't going to spend $1500 on this monitor and doesn't need this level of a monitor. I guess I will keep waiting and hoping.
I honestly believe this will be the lower-end display Apple will provide. With rumors of a 7K XDR down on the pipeline, maybe we might have a 6K XDR version at a price point between this Studio monitor and the high-end XDR. I am just glad Apple finally has a display that professionals can afford and the keynote presentation showed who the target consumers are for. These folks for the most part can afford it.

Is the nano-texture glass worth the $300 upgrade? I'll be using it in a home office, not an overly-bright office setting. Are there any other benefits other than cutting down on reflections?

No mini led I can live with but no 120hs and 600nits bell no, I wanted a bigger display to connect my MacBook Pro to and I have mini led hdr and 120hz so this display is not gonna be good for me so annoyed I wanted it to match the spec of my machine, why not give it 120hz?

not sure if I’m a minority but I struggle to tell the difference between 60 and 120 refresh. My test is older iPhone v current iPad Pro 12.9.. maybe my eyes are failing?

I agree I was hoping for $999 and expecting $1,999 so I’m weirdly mildly okay with it at $1,599. My other gripe and maybe wrongly is that I compare it to the cost of premium 4k tv’s and it doesn’t seem like good value for money.

For everyone like me that is laughing at the idea of $400 to adjust the height, here is an affordable alternative.

For the health of my eyes I do not buy a 27" display with less then 144Hz refresh rate anymore.

This is my biggest disappointment. I have been holding off buying the LG 5k for this, but its more or less the same with a better body.

My guess and my research could be wrong, but Thunderbolt may not be able to push 5k at 120fps. Not sure why it doesn't have Mini LED outside of cost savings.

Any word on whether or not this'll be compatible with non-Mac systems too? I might consider it if I can use it with both my MBP and with Windows laptops for work. Would potentially need HDMI to USB-C.

Indeed this new display compares surprisingly poorly to the latest and greatest MacBook Pro's. Doesn't seem like that great value considering I've had the LG Ultrafine 5k for many years, and this seems barely any better, albeit nicer?

$400 is about what I'd expect to spend for a good display. Still no consumer level display, but alot better (price wise) than the $5k display they had before.

A proper 4K monitor with decent Colour representation and brightness is over 1k.

However my Issue with this one is it‘s freaking 27”… C’mon even the 18 year old Apple Cinema Display was 30”
