Anyone else having audio issues with the studio display. Audio plays, but it is very poor. I use external speakers for music (without issues) but noticed a couple days ago that the system sounds out of the display were skipping. I decided to send all audio through the display to see what happens and it affects everything. It reminds me of s streaming issue as something is buffering, but it doesn't ever resolve itself. And FWIW, I don't stream my audio, so it isn't that.

I've had that twice. The first time I called Apple and they wanted the display back. The replacement has just started doing it too. I don't think it's clipping - it's software related. I've tried unplugging the display from the power and plugging it back in and the issue went away. Not good, but hopefully that's a work around for now.

Over a lot of years many people who've used a digital audio interface with a Mac have experienced times when the signal glitches. In those cases restarting the Mac, unplugging/replugging the devie connection, resetting core audio or some other action is necessary.

I'm thinking this is Apple's first external audio device…maybe I'm forgetting something. Anyway, now they're really finding out what it's like to use one and should pay attention to what is happening in these circumstances. They can't blame a third party for this!

This must be software. I own 2 Apple Studio Display's and this is happening all the time. It's a skipping / tearing when playing any sound through the speakers of the Display. Hoping Apple fixes this issue soon.

I've been seeing this too. It gets bad with Zoom and with YouTube in particular and a restart becomes necessary.
