This was kinda asked before, but not fully answered here.

Is it harmful to only have the Studio Display charge a MacBook Pro (16" M1)? The MagSafe will only charge the MBP to 80% unless told to charge to 100%. The Studio Display seems to constantly charge to 100%.

I agree with the past above - the Mac will eventually learn not to charge to 100%. I have a 14" MacBook Pro in clamshell mode with a Studio Display 24x7 and you see below the system eventually learned this (but it took like 2.5 weeks).

If you have Optimized Battery Charging turned on, charging will stop at 80% or so when hooked up to the Studio Display.

Sometimes it takes a bit for the MacBook to learn your charging routine. In my case, it took a few weeks.
I didn't know this was now built-in to macOS. I've been using Al Dente to halt charging at 75% until I need more.

I found the optimized charging feature to be inconsistent at best and still use Al Dente.

I problem you find in modern Mac on 120.4 plus Apple secretly put in Ethernet Cable bandwidth saver in it! To overcome this in work or high speed home in System Prince->Network Advanced menu to go to manual settings to overcome this change!
