Most of TVs and displays on the market today support the Apple TV, but two of them, Apple own displays do not...

This is Apple TV 4K connected with Club3d CAC-1331 HDMI to DisplayPort plus Amazon Basics Bidirectional USB-C to Display Port.
Result:
- no audio
- no brightness control
- max 2560 x 1440 SDR possible
- RGB low only possible.

Totally useless. Any idea for better cabling?

The question won't help solving the issue, but for the record:

- use Screen Mirroring to the ATV as KVM switch the display between Macs or iPads, iPhones, whatever , how somebody else proposed in the Owner's thread.
- watch some TV in the brake or during work
- quick access some apps non existent on Mac, particularly web sites requiring login each time when accessed on a Mac in a browser window and not having a Mac app.
- if you are an app developer I can imagine that it is a fast way to check how it works in real on a ATV.

But at the end, nobody successful in finding that magic HDMI to USB-C cable to give 4K @60 Hz output with audio?

I guess Apple will never enable standalone Airplay on ASD, even if the chip is more than capable of it.

Why do you want to connect a Studio Display to an Apple TV?

Because not all tv is available on Mac devices in the same user format

I have this problem..I used the club 3d it works and is watchable and sound goes to my minipods which is good. Just wish it could be 4k

Hoping someone finds a solution

So where in the Windows or Nintendo ASD compatibility thread was a post about an upcoming Club 3D HDMI to USB-C cable supporting DP 1.4. I hope that will work with 4K and audio

If you search club 3d there are few. I have not tried the switch but Apple TV and Sky work using

CLUB3D HDMI to USB Type-C 4K60Hz Active Adapter M/F https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09JSYP...i_i_11DDKPN4ENTH4VDTXQA7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Sky had no audio so I had to go back to audio out and Apple TV only shows up as rgb low and not 4K no sound but it’s connected to my HomePods. I am still trying for a better solution

Tried:
Club 3D CAC-1333 with w10 laptop and Apple TV. Got max 2k resolution and no audio
Club 3D CAC-1331 with w10 laptop only as this is a DP adapter, hat the same max 2K and no audio.

I also tried this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Basesailor-Adapter-Converter-Thunderbolt-Chromebook-grey/dp/B0863JN77Q
Got black screen with Apple TV and w10 laptop. However W10 recognize the display when connecting, it shows in Settings as a 2K, Studio Display, but screen stays black.

Club 3D CAC-1334 is reported in some forums the same behavior, max 2K, no audio.

All these Club 3D adapters and the Basesailor one are DP 1.2 or Alt mode DP 1.2 over USB-C.

I was not able to find any HDMI to USB-C with DP 1.4 Alt Mode.
The new one from Club3d , not yet available, seems will be DP 1.4

I used the first one and it worked exactly the same as the other except the ASD thought it was a display so lost sound
