Studio Display little hole in the back

Hi,

I just received my new Apple Studio Display and connection with unpacking I notice a little hole in the back.
Please see attached file.
I contacted Apple support here in Sweden regarding this and they are on to replace the screen due to damage.
I wonder if it could possibly be the microphone?
Please confirm above as soon as possible.

I have a ASD and have the same hole in the back. Probably nothing to be concerned about. Maybe it's mentioned during the teardown?

It is sometimes surprising how rashly Apple Support suggests an exchange instead of doing a little research or looking into their support docs.
While I cannot confirm the function with certainty, the hole is present on every Studio Display and also visible in Apple's exploded view.

Studio Display mic location?

Does anyone have any clue where the mic are on the new Studio Display? I've read some reports that it's in the same area as the webcam, but I can't find any confirmation of this, and I don't see any obvious holes in that area, except for the fan grill.
