Since the Studio display has a SoC. Could it be possible to upgrade it into an AppleTV? Or a dumb terminal Safari browser only.

I can just see Apple selling a USB-C "Studio Display" dongle that provides storage and network connectivity. The OS inside the Display could just be unlocked. Then it becomes a wireless TV display?

As is, this not possible but just flashing the OS to unlock.

I can only speculate.

I like the idea of a usb-c dongle to give it wifi. but I'll be honest I could never see apple doing this 🙁

I was thinking about some airplay functionalities at the most, but indeed, it doesn't have it's own way to connect to networks.

According to people like Mark Gurman, the A13 was used because it was there. He believes the ASD was in development for a couple of years and they need a chip for the Spatial Audio and Center Stage. They had the A13 lying around, so that is what they used. The reason for the 64GB of memory is because that is what a base A13 came with. It is highly unlikely that there is some hidden future feature or capability coming to the ASD.

I guess ASD v2 will came in pink, gold and few other colors.
It will be thinner and use a faster M1 chip for improving performance.
The Tb 3 cable will be also glued to the display, similar to the power cable today.

I get it. Long gone were they days when the original AppleTV was flashable to run Linux.
