For those who have both the new Studio Display and also a HomePod mini, how do they compare in terms of speaker quality, e.g. for listening to music?

The speakers of my current LG UltraFine 5K are just complete garbage, even for podcasts. I have very limited space on my desk, so replacing the LG with a Studio Display would be an attractive option if I could avoid putting 1 or 2 HomePod minis on the desk.

I have both HPM and 2 ASDs and I am completely blown away by the ASD speakers. Admittedly less bass than HPM so naturally the frequency balance is a little bit different, where the ASD is brighter but maintains impressive bass. I was coming from 2 Thunderbolt displays as my desk speakers and was shocked by the difference. Audio quality is obviously subjective, so in that vein: I personally prefer the ASD sound over the Homepod.

Thank you so much for your reply, very helpful! Looks like I wouldn't need speakers at all. I'm not really a bass fiend, so the sound you're describing seems right up my alley.
