Hi all,

Looking for a display to pair with my 14" MacBook Pro. I work with photography and graphic design (both in print and digital) so colour accuracy is very important to me.

I'm just curious if any members here have first-hand experiences of owning or using the BenQ Designer and Photography displays, as on paper these should have a similar output to the Studio Display (100% sRGB, 99% P3) but are quite a bit cheaper, ranging from £550 to £800 at 27". The main compromises I'm aware of are that they're 4K rather than 5K and they typically peak at 350-nits brightness rather than 600.

To make the decision more difficult, I have an opportunity to buy the Studio Display for £1,230. Still a bit overpriced in my view, but having played around with it in Apple stores I have to admit to it being a great product, iPhone 11 camera aside...

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Many thanks! ;)

Well, Benq SW271C (top of the photography line) on paper only claims to cover 90% P3. Since I won't be printing my photos I don't really care about adobe rgb coverage. I'm more interested in P3 and thats tilting the balance toward ASD

I'm a photography hobbyist and that Benq and the studio display are my finalists in the competition for a place in my desk, so I would also like to know about first hand experiences. In my market the difference in price is about $200 USD between Benq SW271C and ASD with VESA mount (not including the stand)

I can tell you grayscale tracking on the Studio Display is easily as good as my multi-thousand dollar medical grade monitors. Reportedly the ASD panels aren't true 10-bit panels but I certainly can't tell at least insofar as grayscale goes.
