Hi there,
We have an HP Elitebook provided by work that we have no other option but to use.
The HP EliteBook has a VGA port and a USB type C display port 1.3. I tried connecting the VGA to the Studio D. using an adapter and nothing happened. I tried connecting it through the display port using Thunderbolt 4 cable and nothing...should I just assume is not compatible or is there a way around it?

Am here for the responses! I want to purchase a Studio Display, to use with my Mac Mini M1 and my MBP.
However, in addition to those two, I'd like to use my Windows PC, too. I was going to look into a HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter. Thus, want to know if it would work.

I currently use a Samsung C49". But, when using it with the MBP, it doesn't 'feel' the same, as when am using two monitors at work (two Dell 24"). Overall, it just feels weird. I can't really describe it...
Does your PC has a thunderbolt port?

100% will never work from a VGA port.
Might work from a USB-C port, depending on other laptop specs.

Something like a Thunderbolt to HDMI (if there is even such a thing)...
There are USB-C (from computer) —> HDMI (to display) adapters, but not something easily done the other way. These kinds of adapters are not typically reversible.
On top of that, you may need to scour Google to see if the ASD will accept a DisplayPort signal over USB-C or if it only accepts a Thunderbolt data stream. If the latter, you’re likely SOL. I don’t personally know the answer to that question.

My wife has an HP elitebook 830 g8 from work, and I have just successfully turned on the Studio Display with it. It turns out that with thunderbolt 4 port, there is not much difficulty for the connection. Very good.
