I went on eBay and got the Belkin VR sync cable and the Studio Display works great with windows PC in 5k. I had my Apple trackpad plugged into the back of the display and was surprised that it also worked in windows. Is there any driver I should install from Apple? Im not sure if my brightness works but audio does work.

Also is there any hub switch I can use to switch between Mac and windows because right now I'm unplugging one or the other into the main Display thunderbolt port.

Hi Lucas did you ever manage to figure this out? I’m about to get a similar set up. Cheers

I haven't tried to install anything from apple but I can assure that the setup works well. I guess my screen is brighter but looks fine. Volume control works good and apple accessories work. The SYNC cable comes with a big clip so I clipped it to the Mac thunderbolt cable and then I just switch between the cables heads since they are clipped together. Not a big deal but eventually this may wear out the USBC port in the display... Maybe not. Who knows?

5k resolution on windows looks great but will put strain on your gaming. GTA 5 at 5k will put the game at 30 frames with a 3080. Had to switch it to 4k to get 60 frames. Display at 5k chokes up my 4k VR headset during a game so I unplug the monitor or set resolution to low to use both vr and monitor. im not a gamer but this is what my tests got me.
