I am very disappointed with the 27 inch Studio Display XDR. The display makes a bunch of wrong decisions.
Let me start by saying that the Pro Display XDR was one of my most desired displays and I almost bought one. However, I didn't have the money initially and when I could finally get it, the display had been out a few years and I didn't want to get it then since I thought Apple would release a new one.
Then, Apple finally announced the Studio Display XDR and I was utterly disappointed. First of all, the downgrade in size. 32 inch is a good size and I have been used to large screens for years so the smaller size was tragic for me.
Nevertheless, the display is still very good and other displays just don't compete with it. No one else provides the combination of glossy, Hi-DPI, high brightness and good quality that Apple does.
However, the added insult is the extra outbound thunderbolt 5 port. With the smaller size, another display is a must and if you get 2 Studio Displays to use that fancy outbound thunderbolt port, then you are paying for extra cameras and speakers that you don't need.
The Pro Display XDR did not include anything extra and I already have a high quality external WebCam and good external speakers so I didn't need any of the added stuff. Apple won't give anything away, but does not discount the Studio Display XDR if you don't get their stand and makes you pay the same price for the VESA mount and expects people to pay for extra stuff one might not need.
I know some people really like the all in one package, and others still like the 27in size, but I really think this niche Apple went with is even smaller than the already small niche of the Pro Studio XDR.
Excuse my rant, I just had to courageously express my sentiments.
