stuffit version issues

I have stuffit standard 9 and stuffit deluxe 9. When I create archives and try to open them at work they won't open because my work has a lower version of stuffit. Is there a way to downsave or something?

One thing worth checking is whether you're creating Stuffit X (sitx) files.
Check under Preferences>Stuffing>Archive Type...

Some older versions of Stuffit will not be be able to open these.
