Stupid elago stand on Amazon doesn't work in standby mode - need a recommendation

So I got this stand as it's advertised as working in standby mode. It doesn't.

You have to tilt it over to get it into the mode then gently roll it back into position. Total sideshow!

Has anyone found a stand, preferably one that takes magsafe since I have a magsafe spare, that definitely works in standby mode? Stylish preferably. That elago one was a cute ball, that matches the stuff on my desk. Shame it's rubbish!

I have the Elago MS1 and it works perfectly. Perhaps your model does not hold it horizontal enough (the MS2 seems to hold the device more horizontal). See https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08RYT7XDH/

That does look more upright, will try it. I like their designs. Well overpriced for a bit of silicon but don't see anything else that shape at the moment!

eh? I was planning to get MS2 .... MS1 is kinda ugly though :S
