Anyone else miss seeing the battery percentage? I know we can just swipe down to the controls and see it, but I miss having it right on the top left. Or even an option to just have the percentage and not the battery icon. I hope Apple changes this in an update. Maybe move the LTE or Wifi symbol next to the time and put the percentage next to the battery?

Love the X though! Really enjoying it so far! (knock on wood!)

Don't miss it at all. Battery life is too good to be bothered by it---

And I was one who customized those things when I rooted my Samsung phones.

Many people think it is not a big deal. But also many people think this IS a big deal. I like to see the percentage as I can estimate a more precise period my phone could last before needing to recharge.

At least Apple should give user option to display battery percentage. Heck, even a coloured number will do.

The battery life on my X is so good I no longer care about the percentage.
Then what would happen after two years of use? What about battery degradation? Decreased battery life?
Maybe none of those is your concern.

I've turned the percentage off on my 7Plus... the battery life is good enough that don't obsess over it any longer... I honestly don't understand the handwringing over it... IF you "need" it to soothe your angst, just pull down in the screen to the CC and see it. Use your phone. Live your life.

We realize that. Same for everyone. It's still there. Just a very minor swipe down to see it.
A downgrade still. And current "swipe" is hard enough to not consider it as "minor swipe" (stretch and a deliberate swipe). I would call it a normal swipe.
But it is good for you. I am glad to hear that.

All swipes are minor in my opinion. Involves no stress, sweat or loss of breath. C'mon, these care first world issues. Deal with it.

Hence why op calls this issue “minor”, which I agree. The ugly and obstructive notch is way worse than being unable to see battery percentage.

Yes! Minor! Thank you! I’m not saying it’s a major deal. Or causing me to lose sleep, or stress. It easy to swipe down. I’m just saying that I miss having it there. It’s not that I obsess over battery, but I prefer to see the percentage and it’s something I wouldn’t mind Apple giving us the option to see.

Ok. I understand. I spoke my peace though. I respect your viewpoint as well.

I don't miss the battery % at all. Actually, I've had it turned off since Apple introduced this feature back in the 3GS day. But since I have an apple watch, I have the Battery widget turned on so I have it on just one place. Too redundant for me.

Only reason why I have the battery widget is to just view where my apple watch battery is. It typically gets me 2 days without having to charge them.

I find it much more irritating that the DND icon is not there. I have my DND on a schedule based on my work hours and when I take a vacation day I have to remember to turn it off. I've missed countless messages due to that little moon not being there anymore.
