And a second email address? Does everyone have two email addresses these days?

I have 8 email addresses. 5 of which I use on a daily basis.

1 personal gmail
1 freelance gmail
1 personal contact for my site
1 general questions for my site
1 for my fulltime job
1 from internet provider (never look at)
1 yahoo for flickr (never look at)
1 total spam gmail (never look at)

The questions are absurd. ANY security questions that ask for a "favorite" are dumb. My favorite movie? Changes daily.
They should be facts only, and yes, some that an adult would know the answer to. :)

Do a random answer, and then remember it. Or, write it down? Silly. The questions should be easy to remember facts.

I didn't say, remember or write it down. I was trying to say just do a random answer and don't worry about it.

I can't think of any service which uses a security question that has been good. You always forget the answer and they are normally case sensitive so it is impossible to figure out how you wrote it to get it right.

Security questions in general are stupid.

My $.02 ... Nobody will every be happy with security. When there was little security in the App Store people were complaining about in-app purchases, and the password delay, etc. Now that there is more security, people are complaining about too many questions etc.
But think about it.. you have to answer those questions ONE TIME (5min at the most) and whenever you use your Apple ID on a new device you have to re-verify your Credit Card info. IS that really TOO much?

I totally agree with this crap! It's more secure then my online bank!! It's only the friggin app store. Or are Apple concerned that our information will be stolen?

Actually they are concerned, because it HAS happened. You can search the archives here and in other news sites, app store and apple ID account hijacking does happen quite a bit.

The problem is that these questions are FORCED on people in the name of security, but they're making it harder for people to keep their account secure.

It can and does happen that you have to reset your password due to a bug in an authentication system.

I understand that. My question is, after entering this info once, when are you ever asked to enter it again? AFAIK not unless you want to change passwords, right? If that's the case, I don't see a problem here in terms of security (although I agree it is unnecessary). I guess my point is that I dealt with the minor inconvenience of taking 3 minutes to fill out the questions when asked. Haven't been bothered since.
