As title says, do you guys feel that the magnet strength of Apple CLEAR case is the same as Apple Leather/Silicone case??

I am on the verge of getting the Apple clear case. I need strong magnets.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve noticed the ‘pull’ feels stronger on the MagSafe charger versus the official Apple leather case. Though my Apple MagSafe wallet was held better on the leather than the clear, but I do not think that’s due to magnet strength but instead the material the clear case is made of making it easier to pull off of the clear case.

I have both the Apple leather case and the Apple clear case for my new iPhone 12 Pro. I just tried gauging the relative strengths of the magnets on the charger and my Apple MagSafe wallet.

For me, the magnets were nearly the same in terms of pull strength so attachment to the wallet using either the clear or leather case was good. However, one significant difference was the degree to which the wallet would move once attached to the respective cases. With the leather case, since the finish is leather and has a bit of texture, once the magnets on the wallet stick, the combination of stiction and magnet pull keeps the wallet in place fairly securely. In contrast, with the clear case, since it is so smooth and devoid of texture, there is far less stiction and the wallet is easier to move on the case. I think this would be an issue, since it would be possible to more easily have the wallet move inadvertently or accidentally, and it could more easily pop off the magnets.

I think if you are concerned about a secure connection between a case and the wallet, the leather might be the better choice for you.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! No wallet for me. I am concern due to using the Belkin car mount. I do go off-road at times…so just want to make sure before making the jump to the clear case.

Thanks all.

I have the Leather and Silicone, not the clear case. Not sure if it's stronger magnets or the grippy material, but the silicone definitely sticks vertically to metal surfaces better than the apple leather case.

For me, my Apple black leather case magnets are slightly stronger than the Apple clear case.

Just got my clear case this afternoon. The magnets are plenty strong and even when you disconnect the aligner magnet the ring still holds pretty tight. But yes, less friction than the leather case for sure.
