i want to get media from a dvd onto youtube using my new imac. what program do i need to do that?
HandBrake or Mac the Ripper.
Just a heads up - if it's copyrighted material such as a TV show or something of that nature YouTube will remove it and send you a notice of Copyright Violation.
you might want to check out this article at LifeHacker.
Rip with handbrake and then process in other ways if you prefer.
I typically use H.264 MPEG-4 compression with Quicktime Pro at 320x240 resolution with 2000kbps video rate. Gives excellent results.
You can also use Visualhub
I'm sure he means to use it for home videos he got from a relative though.
I highly doubt it if its on a DVD
handbrake seems to do the trick. actually its all non copyrighted stuff.
