Can I stream a video from my Mac to my TV via Apple TV?
If the video is in iTunes... yes.
Yes. Download ClickToPlugin and Media Center as Extensions on Safari, and you can stream youtube and many other videos on Safari directly to your ATV2.
how does this work?
Ahh... Thats a bit of a hack. It works, but its quite a bit more complicated and requires more frequently updating the software.
The easy way to get media from your Mac into your Apple TV is just to add it to iTunes. For this project I like iFlicks. Its available on the App store for a few bucks and it will convert any video you can find into a suitable format, automatically lookup all the metadata and add the whole thing to your iTunes. It's a great solution and there's a free demo so you can play with it before you buy it.
i downloaded the safari plugin but i can't find it now and it says its moved. how do i figure out how to find this to watch videos from mac-appletv. sounds amazing if it could work
