stupid question with update mac software

guys im running mac os x 10.5.8.. I went to the software update and it says everything is up to date. How the heck to i update it then? I need to run ilife 11. thanks

You have to buy it. It's not a free update. It's a new release.

... otherwise known as an Upgrade, assuming you have a previous release. Upgrades always cost you money.

10.5.xx is a full release of OS X.... Leopard
10.6.xx is the next full release of OS X.... Snow Leopard

Each full release is another purchase. You should be able to buy an upgrade for like $30 to Snow Leopard
