Stuttery scrolling? Epic (boiling-kettle-like epic anyway) sync times?

Has anyone else noticed this in some apps? The scroll seems to catch on something while moving. It's most obvious in the photos app. When the scroll hits the bottom of a thumbnail or the top of the text underneath it. I've seen it a little in some third party apps too.

Also, it takes at least five minutes to sync with zero changes since the last sync. It that everyone's experience?

Why bother syncing then if you haven't made any changes?

    In a house...duh!
Sorry....but not so sure many people would consider a 5 minute sync "epic".

To see if the length was a once off because of the size of my initial sync (Took six hours to optimize my photo library). Also, I unplugged a few times only to then buy an app on my Mac which I then needed to sync.

It doesn't sound long but it's an eternity when iTunes is frozen for half of it and all the info iTunes gives me is "Syncing iPad" and the occasional "Optimizing photos".

Delete your backup, that's what mine always took forever doing. That way, if you think you'll need to backup, you can just back it up later.

The first couple times I synced, it was long, but not since then. Everything has been quick & smooth since then. Maybe it depends on which apps you have and what you've done with them since the last sync?

What size iPad did you get and how full is it? It does a back up every time you sync so the more you have on it the longer it will take.

I do notice that backing up seems to me to take longer than on the iPad. I just x out of the back up if I don't have to wait for it to fully back up.

Actually, the backing up part takes about the same length of time as my iPhone. That was quite a relief. But at the beginning and end of each sync it just sits there saying something like "Syncing iPad" with the stripey progress bar. I have no idea what it's doing.
