Jeez, what's wrong with just using the $5 stick on Pencil holder for the Surface line from Microsoft. Different colors. Easy to connect. No muss, no fuss..

Because it looks goofy. Less goofy than the elastic band, but still goofy.

It only looks goofy if you use the colored loops (until Apple smartens up and offers some colored cases). Otherwise it's just a loop on the side of the keyboard..

I got the rubber bands from amazon today and honestly while they would work fine, I'm not really happy with the look and the ease of removal from the band. The band is very tight around the 12 and a little loose around the 9. I also got black to go with the cover and that gets very dirty, lint and hair, (dog) very quickly. I will keep them as back ups for other covers but I think at this point the over priced ones are the ones I am sticking with right now!

Thanks for all the different styles posted. My 12.9 is waiting at the house for my eventual return. I am not to sure if I will need the pencil or not, but if I do, I will be able to pull this thread from archive. :)

It actually considering returning the smaller one for the 12.9

I considered it but I don't like the way it looks. There isn't one in a charcoal gray color that matches the gray keyboard case, and the only workable place to put it on the keyboard is right on the front of the cover where it doesn't look good.

Actually, I stuck mine right to the inside of the smart case.. Just wish they would add some colors to the line.. At least a Product Red version..

When I had a SP3, my loop came off after a few weeks, also curious how it holds considering the pencil is much more smoother than the pen.

Anyway - my stylus sling came, - very happy with it. It looks clean and neat and much more professional than the alternatives, and it holds the pencil very well.

It's made pretty well, and I don't see the fuss about the price.

Spending close to $1k on a tablet (plus accessories) and then complaining about a $25 well made stylus holder - makes no sense to me.

It's not about the price, the device just plain sucks, not to mention ugly. And if I mount the Surface pen loop on the inside of the smart case, as I did, it won't come off. And, it holds my pencil just fine. Do you work for this company or something?

Nope.

My wife and I both take our iPad pros to work though, so something looking nice and professional is important.

Having received the stylus sling today - we both think it looks very nice.

Edit -

The alternative case for me was the UAG backcase, that has a pencil holder. That's kind of bulky and looks kind of goofy. Also, I had the pencil snag on something and come out, a few times.

I have the UAG, it's nice but bulky. I have the Poetic Quarterback coming on Thursday which has a pencil holder built in. I'll let you know what I think..

Please do - I just looked at that and it looks pretty nice.

I think my wife is after something waterproof, like the LifeProof case for iPad Air 2, but there doesn't appear to be anything yet, that I know of at least.

I'm happy with the smart case/cover/sling combo.

I'm curious if anyone has used the sling with the ASK? It seems like it might work on the section closest to the connector? I haven't seen any pictures of it on the keyboard.

That's not the one sold on Amazon is it? Mine doesn't have a slot for the adapter.
Nope, it's the one I made but he wanted to know how the sling looks like on the ASK, mine is not the sling but similar to it so it should look about the same on the ASK.

Pretty much this, except the actual sling is thinner.

It does have a slot for the adaptor, though. The adaptor is pretty much the width of the sling.

With the ASK, you have to have it set between the keyboard and the inside case when closed (like in the picture), otherwise, when you unfold the keyboard and try to use, the pencil is between the triangle portion being used, and the iPad.

But it does work like in the picture.

Get the Poetic case.. It's nice, not too heavy and very svelte after dealing with the UAG.. Might even get to put my glass screen protector..

was just about to buy till I say the $25 price for an elastic strap LMAO
Here's a breakdown of that $25 : elastic band $5, printed logo $1, labor $5, packaging $1, profit $13 and some small cost not worth mentioning. Mark up is around 80-100% not bad for a one time business venture lol

How is the tension of the Stylus Sling? Does it press up the edges of the Smart KeyBoard case?

I have a product I bought at BB that does this because the tension is too tight.
